Volunteer Opportunities with Good Samaritan
The Good Samaritan Project’s Care and Support Team provides a ministry opportunity to exercise your faith. Members of Cathedral of Faith are encouraged to support program participants, engage with the COF Service Ministries that are appropriate, as well as, with other community resources. Below are Specific Volunteer Opportunities.
Good Samaritan's New Care and Support Team members will immediately begin volunteering at Good Samaritan's Hope, Help & Healing, a re-entry support group held at Cathedral of Faith and lead by volunteers and program staff. The group addresses problems and obstacles that individuals face during their transition back into their homes, work, schools and neighborhoods. Group Mentoring allows time to get acquainted with the program, program participants and staff.
Once a volunteer has completed his/her time as a Good Samaritan Group Mentor, he/she may be matched with a specific individual. Individual mentoring provides a one-on-one opportunity to minister to individuals and assist them in re-engaging in faith-based activities that will promote both their spiritual and personal goals. Individual mentors may be required to provide a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance if transporting participants is desired.
