Scripture: Proverbs 2:10-11

Scripture:
“10 For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
11 Discretion will protect you,
and understanding will guard you.

Observation:
Wisdom was never meant to just be head knowledge. It was also meant to be inserted into our hearts and our souls. Once wisdom becomes ingrained in us it becomes more than just a set of concepts but will become a guide to guard and protect us.

Application:
I must not read the Bible as mere information but must open my heart and allow the Word to enter into my life. I need to make sure wisdom is not just pure information or a set of rules and boundaries, but let it be a light to my path. Not only do I need to know it in my mind but I also need to love it in my heart. Wisdom should not be pressure to my conscience but rather pleasing to my soul.  God’s wisdom is the only true guide and light available to me to help me navigate through this life. Therefore, I must seek to know His ways and pursue to understand His thoughts. Through His Word, I will know His wisdom and I ought to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit when He speaks so that I can be prepared for when life’s circumstances call for divine discretion and unique understanding.

Prayer:
Father, true wisdom comes from You and You alone, from your mouth comes knowledge and understanding. You say that your hand will always guide me, so I ask that you would continue to speak wisdom into my life, so that it may guard me and protect me from the world’s evils, dangers, and temptations. At the end of my life may I be able to look back and see how you have led me through the years and give You the all the glory. Amen
