Scripture: Proverbs 16:9-10
Pastor Gary Palacios

Scripture:
A man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life],
But the Lord directs his steps and establishes them

Observation:
This scripture brings a lot of insight on how we are to trust God during our lifetime. I’ve heard it said time and time again. “If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail”. But God, says “ He will direct our steps and establishes them”. So this to me says, Plan, Plan, Plan then watch God take full control of those plans and either shut them down or change the course of those plans. How much do we truly “trust God.” He allows us the freedom to plan, however, he controls the steering wheel.

Application:
Maybe it’s a job, a career change, getting married, having a child, or even giving away wealth? Throughout life, we have seen people say, “once I let God have control, everything changed,” This is very true. We desire to have that new job, we go to school, climb the ladder, and then it happens, but during the journey, God begins to speak to you and tells you, once you get this job, become a blessing to others, give to the poor or to those in need. Please remember, your steps are ordered and established if you allow God in your planning He will order the correct steps to get there.

Prayer:
Jesus, I give you all the plans and dreams I have for my life, my family, my children. These are plans made by me and now I turn them over to you. May you establish my steps according to your will. I know I must plan, however, you will order my steps and establish them. Thank you, Lord, for taking full control.
