BENEFITING REACHING OUT
In the late 1970’s, Reaching Out food ministry began out of a church closet on campus. By the late 80’s, it had grown exponentially. In 1989, the Cathedral of Faith held their first Celebration of Love, a large event distributing food to our neediest in the community.
To meet the needs of the economically disadvantaged in our community, Reaching Out built a state-of-the-art, 16,000 square foot warehouse facility in 1993. Until the pandemic, Reaching Out distributed over $16 million annually in food, provides food for families at 37 local public schools and is Northern California’s largest food outreach. The building is debt-free and operates based on grants and congregation support. Due to the pandemic, there was a huge increase in the amount of people in our community needing food. Reaching Out was able to distribute over 30 million dollars worth of food to families as well as deliver food to seniors.
Reaching Out It continues to gain acclaim for its pioneering practices to feed the hungry. To God be the glory!
